How it works

A conversation, not a process

Every family's situation is different. I don't have a standard package or a sign-up form - just an email address and a genuine willingness to listen. Tell me about your child, what you're looking for, and what hasn't worked before, and we'll go from there.

I aim to respond within 24 hours. If we both think there's a good fit, we'd arrange an informal meeting - at your home or somewhere you're comfortable - so you and your child can meet me before anything is committed to.

I can share copies of my DBS, insurance certificate, and any other credentials at that meeting or in advance, whichever you prefer.

Helpful things to include in your first message
  • Your child's age and a brief summary of their needs
  • What kind of support you're looking for
  • When you'd need support (days/times)
  • Your general area
  • Anything that's important to you in a carer

No pressure to have all of this - even a short message is fine.

FAQs

Common questions

Are you available during school hours?

No - during term time I work as a SEND Teaching Assistant from 9am to 3:30pm. I'm available for PA and care work from 3:30pm on weekdays, and all day on weekends and school holidays.

Do you work with children with complex needs?

Yes. I hold specialist training in epilepsy and buccal midazolam administration, medication awareness, and moving and handling - and I have direct experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, and multiple complex needs.

Can I see your DBS and certificates?

Absolutely. DBS and insurance are available on request. All training certificates are linked on my certifications page and can be provided as physical or digital copies.

How far do you travel?

I work across South West Hertfordshire - covering Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley, Kings Langley, and Chorleywood. Not sure if you're in range? Ask.

Do you work with adults?

My focus is on children and young people with SEN - this is where my experience and qualifications are specifically directed. My DBS does cover adults, but care for children is where I work best.

What happens after I get in touch?

I'll reply within 24 hours. If it sounds like a potential fit, we'd arrange an informal meeting - you, your child, and me - before anything is agreed. No pressure, no commitments until you're ready.
